Son of a rich family come to less, studies in the Military School where he receives military preparation and careful education. He is preservative, not as much by conviction as by obedience to the military laws. One falls in love deeply with Matilde and one resists to even finish with her knowing that the family will reject it not to have fortune. Moving influences and money, the brother and the mother of Matilde manage to send it to prison, but Adolph who knows to always love for and fighting reason why wants, is able to escape. He looks for Matilde, that also victim with deceits and lies, is itself forced to marry with Manuel. Adolph appears under another identity in the property of Manuel to take to loved his but she refuses, by scruples and prejudices. When knowing Manuel, Adolph discovers that he is noble, generous, loyal and brave like him. He gets to feel esteem by his rival but even so he does not waver: its love by Matilde is so great that is even arranged to give its life by her.
